AGRINOVA
Developing Sustainable Farming Solutions for the Future

AGRINOVA is an innovative Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Vocational Education and Training (KA220-VET) that aims to transform the way sustainable agriculture is taught and implemented across Europe. The project focuses on equipping vocational education institutions, trainers, farmers, and agricultural stakeholders with the knowledge, tools, and skills required to adopt smart and sustainable farming practices in a rapidly changing world.

Running from September 2025 to August 2027, AGRINOVA brings together universities, research centers, SMEs, NGOs, and VET providers from Romania, Austria, Turkey, Albania, Greece, and Bulgaria. Together, the partnership works to bridge the gap between modern agricultural innovation and vocational training systems.

Why AGRINOVA?

The world is facing major challenges:

– Rapid urbanization
– Climate change
– Increasing global food demand
– Limited arable land
– Environmental degradation
– Growing pressure on natural resources

Project Aim

The main aim of AGRINOVA is to modernize vocational education and training in agriculture by integrating sustainable and smart farming solutions into VET curricula.

The project seeks to:

– Promote environmentally sustainable farming practices
– Develop innovative training materials for VET institutions
– Equip trainers with advanced knowledge in smart agriculture
– Enhance learners’ skills in green and digital farming methods
– Strengthen cooperation between education, research, and industry
– Increase adoption of sustainable agricultural solutions
– AGRINOVA ensures that agricultural professionals gain market-relevant skills aligned with labor market needs and environmental priorities.

By 2050, nearly 80% of the global population is expected to live in urban areas. At the same time, food production must significantly increase to meet global needs. Traditional farming methods alone are no longer sufficient. Agriculture must become smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable.
AGRINOVA responds to this urgent need by promoting climate-smart agriculture, controlled-environment agriculture, aquaponics, urban farming, vertical farming, and smart farming technologies based on Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.
The project supports the green transition by ensuring that vocational education keeps pace with modern agricultural developments.

Target Group

AGRINOVA directly supports:

– Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions
– Trainers and educators in agricultural education
– Farmers and agricultural professionals
– Agro-food enterprises
– Young learners entering the agricultural sector
– Adult learners seeking upskilling or reskilling
– Sustainability and innovation stakeholders

The project empowers both educators and learners to become active contributors to sustainable agricultural transformation.

What AGRINOVA Delivers

AGRINOVA aims to deliver practical and innovative outputs that foster long-term impact in the agricultural sector. The project will produce the AGRINOVA Sustainable Farming Handbook, offering a guide on the practical applications of smart farming and sustainable agricultural solutions. Additionally, the AGRINOVA VET Curriculum will provide a structured vocational education program with teaching materials and methodologies for smart farming technologies. To ensure effective knowledge transfer, AGRINOVA will implement a Training of Trainers program in Romania, equipping educators with cutting-edge skills. Local hands-on trainings in partner countries will bring this expertise directly to farmers and learners, while awareness campaigns and dissemination activities, including webinars and local events, will maximize visibility and ensure the project’s impact reaches a wide audience.
