Albanian Association of Industrial Environmentalists (AAIE) was founded on 28 September 2000 in Tirana. Through its projects in the fields of environmental protection and socio-economic development, AAIE aims to support Albania’s social and economic recovery by assessing and promoting effective socio-economic policy initiatives, with a particular focus on environmental sustainability and population welfare.
As a policy advisory organization, AAIE – together with its Scientific, Statistical Research Centre and Information Technology Unit (SRC&IT) – contributes to the strengthening of central and local institutions. Its work supports the improvement and implementation of legal, economic, and policy instruments, enhances institutional frameworks, and promotes policy coordination and information exchange.
AAIE also actively encourages the engagement of the private sector and other stakeholders in environmental policy dialogue and sustainable development processes, fostering inclusive and evidence-based decision-making.
– Conducting scientific research and studies in the field of the environment
– Developing and implementing environmental policies in adherence to EU directives
– Offering expertise in specific areas such as air quality/air pollution, environmental legislation, energy, forestry, land and water management, waste management, and sustainable agricultural practices
– Conducting awareness campaigns and community education
– Influencing Albanian society towards nature protection, agricultural development and efficient use of natural resources maximizing the utilization of renewable energy
– Developing programs for environmental sustainability and proficient environmental management using the latest contemporary Information and Technology techniques
